13th-Place Finish for Byron and No. 9 Team at Hickory

May 11, 2014

Hickory, N.C. (May 10, 2014) – William Byron and the No. 9 Liberty University Chevrolet competed in the 100-lap race at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway on Saturday night in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series (NWAAS) Late Model race. Byron started from the ninth position and worked his way up to sixth by the midpoint of the race, but he had challenges with the motor and finished the event in the 13th position.

“We had engine trouble during the race, multiple issues led up to it,” said Byron.  “My JR Motorsports team works hard every week and I can’t thank them enough.  We will get the Liberty University car fixed up and ready to race for the win again in two weeks.”

Byron and the No. 9 team have next weekend off before returning to Hickory Motor Speedway on May 24 for the 100-lap NWAAS Woodforest Bank/Hickory Record night.
