William Byron Continues Super Late Model Season at North Wilkesboro Speedway in ASA STARS National Tour

Joins Anthony Campi Racing in the No. 24 Chevrolet

CHARLOTTE, NC (May 12, 2023) – William Byron has been chomping at the bit to climb back into a super late model since his back-to-back wins at New Smyrna Speedway in February. That time will come Tuesday, May 16 when the ASA STARS National Tour takes to the track for the ECMD 150 at the historic North Wilkesboro Speedway.

“I’m excited to get back into a super late model for a few more races this year,” said Byron. “I’m looking forward to running with Anthony’s group. The super (late model) is one of my favorite cars to drive and it will be cool to run it at North Wilkesboro.”

Byron has joined forces with Anthony Campi Racing and will pilot the No. 24 Chevrolet at North Wilkesboro Speedway and in a yet-to-be-determined schedule for the remainder of 2023. The 25-year-old NASCAR Cup Series driver found victory lane six times in 2022 while running a 10-race season with Donnie Wilson Motorsports, including such notable races as the Money in the Bank at Berlin Raceway, Slinger Nationals at Slinger Super Speedway and he took home the coveted guitar with a win in the North/South Super Late Model Challenge at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway.

“We are thrilled to add William (Byron) to our program this year,” added Anthony Campi. “We couldn’t be more excited to get the No. 24 Chevrolet on track at North Wilkesboro Speedway.”

Campi is a third-generation driver who oversees the family-run Anthony Campi Racing team based in Sarasota, FL. ACR has established itself as one of the most successful driver development programs in the late model world. The six-time Cup Series winner is looking forward to contributing to their notes and working with young, up-and-coming drivers like ACR’s Katie Hettinger, who will also be competing at North Wilkesboro Speedway in a pro late model in the CARS Tour event on Wednesday.

The ASA STARS National Tour will kick off NASCAR’s All-Star Race week as the Cup Series returns to the Wilkes County track that has been restored since it was closed following the 1996 season. Byron will also turn laps in the Craftsman Truck Series race on Saturday night with Kyle Busch Motorsports.
